The Career club officially launched their "Career Hub" on the 3rd May 2024 under the guidance of Ms Gabriels (L.O Department Head) and Mr Thebus (Commerce Department). Together with our partners Eduvos and the SGB, our RCL members came together to launch this much needed initiative at our school. The opening included speeches by counselor Badroodien, Mr Teladia – Senior Curriculum Planner for L.O, Mr Antonels – Curriculum advisor for L.O, and Mr Samaai – an ex Sintonite and firefighter. Mr Barday welcomed guests and learners, who dressed up in their future careers, and cut the ribbon with counselor Badroodien. Zara, Martin and Nuella (three Sinton art learners) painted the beautiful mural on the wall. This initiative, launched in the province on the 9th November 2023, will be focusing on career awareness and skill development in entrepreneurship. It will also focus on the registration of all metrics to a HEI of their choice, bursary applications and the world of work in general. Grade 8 subject choices will be another priority as this is an exit point and a daunting task for our younger learners. We wish to engage with our alumni, form community partnerships and invite professionals, business entities, colleges and parents to join us in this venture and share their career stories with our learners.
